שֶׁקֶל Strong’s #8255 sheqel

My lord, hearken unto me. A piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that betwixt me and thee? Bury therefore thy dead.

Genesis 23:15

The currency in modern Israel is called a sheqel (or shekel). However, in Biblical Hebrew the word sheqel was a unit of measurement, a weight of a material such as grain or silver.
