Strong’s #1004

And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.

Exodus 2:1

The word bayit can mean the “house” the family resides in or the family itself that resides in one “house.” This word is also the second letter of the Hebrew aleph-beyt. The word “alphabet” comes from the first two Greek letters, alpha and beta, which actually come from the first two Hebrew letters aleph and beyt (bayit), so in Hebrew it is called the aleph-beyt rather than the alphabet.
