Strong’s #727

And they shall make an ark of acacia wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

Exodus 25:10

There are three “boxes” mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. The box of the covenant, usually translated as the ark of the covenant, contained the objects of the covenant: the manna, Aaron’s staff and the tablets. Another box mentioned in the Hebrew Bible is the box of Yoseph (Genesis 50:26) or, as most translations translate it, a coffin. The third is identified as a chest in 2 Kings 12:10.
