דְּבוֹרָה Strong’s #1682 devorah

They compassed me about like bees; They are quenched as the fire of thorns: In the name of YHWH I will cut them off.

Psalm 118:12

The root of devorah is davar (Strongs #1696). This root literally means “to arrange in order,” usually in the sense of arranging words in an order to make a sentence or to “speak.” A colony of bees is insects living in a completely ordered society, hence its connection to the idea of order.
