אִשָּׁה Strong’s #802 ishah

And the man said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Genesis 2:23

The Hebrew word for woman is ishah, derived from the masculine noun ish (Strongs #376) by adding the “ah” suffix, which is often used for feminine nouns. It is interesting to note that just as the word “man” is found in the English word “woman,” it is also so in the Hebrew language.
