חֲסִידָה Strong’s# 2624 hhasiydah

Where the birds make their nests: As for the stork, the fir-trees are her house.

Psalm 104:17

A “stork” shows great kindness to its offspring and it was believed that the offspring showed kindness to the parents by caring for them in their old age. The masculine form of this word, hhasiyd (Strongs #2623), often translated as “saint,” is one who shows kindness to another. These two words are derived from the verbal root hhasad (Strongs #2616) meaning “to show kindness.”
