דְּבַשׁ Strong’s #1706 devash

He made him ride on the high places of the earth. And he did eat the increase of the field. And he made him to suck honey out of the rock. And oil out of the flinty rock.

Deuteronomy 32:13

This word is usually translated as “honey,” but literally means “a thick sticky substance” and may refer to honey or dates, a common fruit in the Near East. The phrase flowing with milk and honey is probably speaking about a land flowing with milk (probably from the prolific goat herds of the region) and devash (honey and/or dates).
