הִנֵּה Strong’s #2009 hiyneyh

And the angel of YHWH appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

Exodus 3:2

“Behold” is a common word found in the Bible (1275 times in the KJV) but not really used in our English language today. Being an abstract word, it does not really convey the Hebraicness of the word hiyneyh. Every Hebrew word gives a picture of an action and this word is no different. The original Hebraic meaning of hiyneyh is best described as one pointing out something important. We would say “Wow, look at that!”
